Thad Gegner practices civil litigation, family law, criminal defense, and personal injury. He has successfully represented clients in civil and criminal trials, divorce, and business and financial disputes. Thad's practice is based on our firm's client-centered philosophy, where an understanding of the client and the client's needs are first and foremost. Before joining Guelzow & Winston, Thad practiced with one of western Wisconsin's best-regarded bankruptcy law firms. He comes to our firm with an impressive record of trial wins, and is very dedicated to representing our clients. Thad is a native of Santa Barbara, California. He was inspired to become a lawyer in high school when he was on his school’s mock trial team. As he loves to be outdoors, His hobbies include collecting and restoring classic American cars (1950's Buicks) and he greatly enjoys history, acquiring a large collection of antiques and historical artifacts. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), and earned his law degree at the Hamline University School of Law, in St. Paul Minnesota, where he was awarded Dean's Honors every term. He lives in Eau Claire, and greatly enjoys most outdoor activities, being very partial to camping, fishing, boating, SCUBA diving and anything to do with water or boats.
