Community Involvement

Our law firm strongly believes in giving back to the community.

At Guelzow & Ellefsen Law Offices, community involvement is a long-standing corporate objective. For more than 20 years, our company and its employees have contributed thousands of dollars and hundreds of volunteer hours to improve the communities where we live and work.

Attorney Guelzow formed Soli Deo Gloria in 1996, a nonprofit corporation. Its sole purpose is to provide financial aid to God’s people who may temporarily find themselves in dire financial straits, often through no fault of their own. For example, Soli Deo Gloria has aided:

  • A battered mother who, with her children, fled a home and was without the funds to rent an apartment
  • A family whose entire home burned to the ground
  • Supplying appliances for families without sources to which they can turn

Attorney Guelzow also serves as legal counsel for the 198 congregations that make up the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In this role, he has assisted various ELCA congregations with a variety of legal matters affecting the church, from denial of insurance coverage to personnel concerns.
