I was born, raised and graduated high school in Stanley, Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and obtained my degree in Business Administration. Following graduation and after a brief stint in Salt Lake City, UT, I moved back to Eau Claire and began working at Guelzow Law Offices in 2009. When I was first hired, I was the family law paralegal, but my interest quickly turned to civil litigation (personal injury and product liability cases) and estate planning.
Two years after joining the firm, I had the unique opportunity to sit with Attorney Guelzow for three jury trials in 2011. After realizing "I can do this," I decided to take my legal career a step further and enrolled in William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law) in St. Paul, Minnesota. While I was attending classes at Mitchell Hamline, I continued to work for the firm and assisted Attorney Guelzow in the resolution of dozens of personal injury, wrongful death, and product liability cases, including obtaining a $2.14 million result in an explosion case in Cumberland, WI, and obtaining a $495,000 settlement in a case involving an automobile collision in Mondovi, WI.
Since beginning my legal career in 2009, I have graduated law school and passed the Wisconsin bar exam. I am fully licensed in Wisconsin and the Western District of Wisconsin. I enjoy every opportunity that I have to assist and educate clients, including presenting to various organizations about the importance of estate planning, one on one meetings with clients and families who have been hurt in personal injury accidents, and, even, Bloody Mary's after a final divorce hearing. I am honored when people chose me and this firm to represent them. I take my job very seriously and I pride myself on being approachable, knowledgeable, responsive, straightforward, and compassionate to my clients.
In 2020, I was named one of Super Lawyers – Rising Stars, which is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The patented selection process includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations. Only 5% of attorneys are selected as Super Lawyers, and only 2.5% are selected as Rising Stars. From 2017 to 2020, I was the secretary of the Eau Claire County Bar Association and I am currently serving as the president-elect. I frequently volunteer at the Free Legal Clinic, which is held every third Wednesday at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. Though I lost my favorite jogging partner, SlowPoke (my basset hound), I still enjoy being outside, especially at our cabin near Stone Lake, Wisconsin.
